Activated Alumina 5-8mm Balls

Activated alumina 5-8mm balls are highly porous, spherical forms of aluminum oxide ($Al_2O_3$). Manufactured by heating aluminum hydroxide at high temperatures (a process called dehydroxylation), these balls develop a massive internal surface area packed with “tunnel-like” pores. This structure gives them incredible adsorption capabilities—meaning gases and liquids physically stick to their inner surfaces without the balls breaking down, shrinking, or swelling.
